This primary school Named Wongchu Biswa Darshan Junior High School was established on 1990. Currently children from three surrounding villages namely Sisa Khola, Chyangba and Chepte Khola, come to receive education. There are seven teachers who work and reside in the school. Three teachers are provided by the Education department of Nepal and four teachers are privately hired by Wongchu Sherpa. Expenses of upto class five are looked after by the Education department while six to eight are being looked after privately by Wongchu Sherpa.

Children of this school are comprised of Chhetri, Brahmin, Sunuwar, Magar, Sherpa, Rai and Viswakarma. A tiny amount of Rs. 10 is charged per year from the students. All uniforms, educational materials, note books, pencils are all provided free. The school is also provided with clean drinking water which is sourced from nearby water spring and brought to school using a 200 meter long pipe.

A Tribute to
GORAN KROPP

Goran Kropp a world famous mountaineer donated a few thousand dollars towards the salary of the teachers and towards school fund. People of Chyangba Village will always remember Goran. After his sudden death, this help has been stopped and the school has lost a good friend.

YEARLY BUDGET

WBD School is run so far with a budget of Rs. 2.5lakh (250000) per year which is contributed by Wongchu Sherpa.
Every year, the expenses is growing and because of the situation of the country, Wongchu's own business is suffering. Thus there is a huge financial burden over him which is making him seek outside contribution. So if you are willing to help financially, you are most welcome to contact.

Swedish family support

Children of Bosse Tingback, a Swedish national and a climber, raised Rs. 25000 for our school by selling pencils and various other stationeries in Sweden in 1991. We are grateful to his family for this great financial support.
