How to get there

If you are interested to visit Chyangba Village we suggest you to follow the following land route or sky route. We have also tried to provide an approximate duration of the journey. But it totally depends on your pace.

LAND ROUTE:

1. Kathmandu to Jiri: One can find a long route bus departing from old bus station at Ratna Park, for Jiri. There are many buses that leaves from 6:00 till 8:00. It takes about 8 hours to reach Jiri. Jiri is one of the oldest trading point in Solu Khumbu area.

2. Jiri to Deurali: From this day, you will need to trek. Jiri to Deurali trek will take about 6 hours. Very scenic walk through potato fields, rice fields, some jungle and mountain views.

3. Deorali to Golay: Second day of scenic walk. Same kind of surroundings like rivers, uphill, downhill, village views and mountains. Approximately 6 hours of walk.

4. Golay to Pike Danda: Walk through forests, uphill, village views, mountain views. Pike Danda is a spectacular place from where one can see most of the tall peaks including Everest.  Approximately 7 hours.

5. Pike Danda to Jabrabas: Another 6 hours of walk through rhododendron forest and farm lands.

6. Jabrabas to Chyangba: Final day of walk. Approximately 5 hours of walk. Scenic mountain view will follow throughout your walk.
 

SKY ROUTE

1. Kathmandu - Phaplu: Take domestic flight from Kathmandu Domestic airport to Phaplu. Takes about 35 minutes. Costs $89.00 (one way). Extra airport tax Rs. 165.

2. Phaplu to Bidakharka: Walk for about 5 hours from Phaplu to Bidakhara. Stay at some local house.

3. Bidakharaka to Chyangba: Walk for about 4.5 to reach Chyangba Village. 

No special permit is needed to visit Chyangba Village. It does not fall under Sagarmatha National Park. Mountain views are awesome from Chyangba Village. For even best view a short walk up to Pike Danda will reward you with an awesome 180degree panoramic views of the mountains.

For staying at Chyangba Village, you are most welcomed by the local villagers to stay as their guest. Food will be whatever the local villagers eat. For those who are looking to explore their day to day lifestyle, visiting Chyangba Village is recommended. In the end of your visit, there's no bill but a gratitude tips from you will be highly appreciated. We want to recommend you following rates. Remember you will be helping them with a small income source. 

1. Accommodation Rs. 50 per person per night.
2. Food Rs.50 - Rs. 75 per meal per person.
3. Tea Rs. 5 onwards.
4. Guide charge Rs. 150 per day.
